Climbing Up to the Bunkers del Carmel, Barcelona

If you were thinking that I would be done with bragging about my adventures in Barcelona... you are wrong! I love this city and can't stop celebrating it by writing about it, taking pictures of it, making little sketches behind my postcards to my friends and family.

This time, I ended up in Bunkers del Carmel. This one, if you ask me, is the best panorama you will get in all Barcelona. I have checked out Tibidabo, Montjuic and Les Arenes but el Carmel gets to win. From here, you can see the main roads that are clearly defined by the tall trees, the Sagrada Familia, the Hotel W (the big blue sail structure), the Agbar Tower, the Ciutadella Park, the skyscrapers... everything really, from the right distance. The best bit is obviously the sea, which contours it all superbly.

This place is called the way it is because of the bunkers that were installed during the Spanish Civil War as anti-craft batteries. It became famous after a some scenes of a film were shot there.

Getting up the mountain wasn't super easy. The hike is quite a long one (which I enjoyed, but understand that is not for everyone) but all worth it. The view from the top looks like a postcard! You can also relax there, although it felt more like roasting because it was so hot when I went.

Of course, I took some fun shots for the blog :)

Doing tree pose on top of the world. It was so hard to focus!

If you are going to Barcelona any time soon, make sure the Bunkers are on your bucket list! If you have been, did you hike and did you enjoy it?

    1. Thank you so much Fabio :) You should definitely visit Barcelona! I believe this is the best season to because the weather's at its best, even though it does rain once in a while. Wait for a few weeks and it might be boiling haha. I really hope you can come back and visit the blog!

    1. I know, it was sooo scary to do it! I was looking for a spot to stare at, which made it even harder considering that what stood out the most were the faraway skyscrapers haha. Luckily I managed to resist the three seconds needed for the picture :P
