Monthly Favourites: June 2016

It's that time of the month again where I share what I liked best this month and what's been going on in my life. Thanks for passing by!

June has been, along with May, a great month in Barcelona because of the weather and the crazy things the city has allowed me to experience. And now the experience is over and I'm back home. In a way, I don't want to rethink about it too much, as my intention is to always stay present and not to focus much on the past (see the review of this life changer). Let's just say that my main realisation in Barcelona was that it was one of the happiest times of my life and a moment of my liberation from all of my fears and any type of prejudice. I've never been more grateful to life. This one below was my goodbye post with all my thoughts and feelings on Barcelona :)
Adeu, Barcelona. You have been fantastic. I'm not leaving on a sad note - more of a content one with a crazy, excited perspective to the future. You made me experience everything - joy, loss, pain, surrender, calm, happiness. Satisfaction. One of the first friends I made here told me that no matter what happened, the city would always be there to embrace her. And this is just how I felt: no day went by without a special memory, be that lunch breaks on the beach or a late night chat with my housemates or singing with my friends in an unknown pub of the city centre or meeting strangers and immediately connecting with them. I have met so many diverse and incredible people, another world of yoga I didn't know and got to speak one of my favourite languages. What an amazing journey. I am so so grateful for everything and can't stop saying it! I will never be the same after Barcelona. From the bottom of my heart, thanks to all the beautiful people that made this happen ❤️ Barcelona, this isn't over. Actually, you're only my beginning - I want to travel and learn more from the world. I'm ready!

Film: Everybody Wants Some!! by Richard Linklater (2016)

Everybody Wants Some!! is the funnest movie I have watched in a while. Set in the 80s, it's about a group of teenagers who are just starting university as baseball players (I didn't know that in the US you could get in uni just by playing a sport?!) and their adventures in what is known in the UK as fresher's week (not sure what the American version is). The actors are spontaneous and so funny! They reminded me of fresher's week in Bristol when every night we would go party and meet new people in the hall of residence.
P.S. from now on I'll only post film and TV series review as part of monthly favourites as I prefer focusing on travel, yoga and books. I will probably renew the blog and delete the film section soon, perhaps with some occasional film reviews if they're really good ones. Sorry film lovers!

- TV Series: Revenge by Mike Kelley (2011 - 2015)
After my Pretty Little Liars obsession, I had to find another good series as I sadly finished PLL's sixth season (still, the wait for the seventh isn't easy at all! Haha). Revenge isn't as catchy but it goes very close to it. It's about a girl, Amanda Clark, who after having been left an orphan as a child (her dad was arrested for a crime he didn't committ), decides to take revenge on the Graysons, the culprits for her dad's arrest. Amanda does this by going back to her old house in the Hamptons with a new identity, that of Emily Thorne, and disrupting the family's wealthy and perfect lifestyle.

Emily VanCamp who plays the protagonist is perfect for the role. And I love her outfits and hairstyles!
