4 Things to Do Over the Winter Holidays

As Christmas day has come to an end, I found some time to write a short lifestyle post while glancing at A Christmas Carol on TV. These are some of the things I enjoy doing in my free time during the winter break.

1 - Snuggle up in your PJs and watch a Christmas film
There is nothing better in the winter holidays than spend your evening snuggled up by the fireplace to watch a Christmas film or an old comedy in the company of your dear ones. Some of my favourite films at this time of the year are The Holiday, Rise of the Guardians and Arthur Christmas.

2 - Go for a walk in the chilly breeze, without your phone

Although I love summer, I enjoy the cold if taken in small doses. One of my favourite activities is to go for walks around my house in the countryside bundled up in a warm scarf and wearing my gloves and letting the chilly winter air pinch my nose :)

3 - Make cookies with friends or family
I might not be an experienced cook, but I enjoy baking cakes and buiscuits a lot, especially when I'm in company of my loved ones. My last experiment was blueberry muffins which was definitely a success! Now waiting to taste the chocolate cake I made for this year's Christmas lunch :)

4 - Drink hot chocolate and read over a Christmas CD

Make yourself a warm cup of tea or hot chocolate (I love to make it with soy and coconut milk and adding a sprinkle of cinnamon and dessiccated coconut) and relax on your sofa. You can do this by listening to Christmas music, lighting your fireplace or reading your book, or do the three at the same time. I'm currently reading The Little Book of Hygge. The Danish Way to Live Well by Meik Wiking which is the perfect holiday read.

What are some things you enjoy doing in the winter holidays?

  1. Merry Christmas, Assia! :)
I love this list! I seem to do similar activities as you over the winter break. I find it can be a busy time, so I always take one day to myself to stay in my PJs and just watch movies all day, or alternate between reading a book. It seems to be a tradition that's always carried on! I also love prepping for the new year so I put some time aside to fill out my new agenda (that I usually got as a Christmas gift) and plot down some important dates. Cheers!

    1. Merry Christmas Lor! Hope you had a nice Christmas Day. Your tradition of watching films and reading for an entire day sounds awesome!! I need to start that :) I also LOVE filling in my new agenda. This year I got a colourful, flowery one by Paperblanks. Looking forwards to seeing yours! xx
