Monthly Favourites: March, April & May 2018

I can't believe it took me so long to write a favourites post - the last few months were hectic to say the least, and I did not make much time for hobbies. Let's just say that I dedicated 99% of my energy to studying, and I left the rest behind. I loved April as it really helped me take a mental and phsyical break and feel refreshed. Instead, May really took its toll on me, so now I'm trying to catch up with sleep, hobbies and family time. Yet, the good news is I've got a lot of tv series to share. Scroll down to find out!

 - TV series: Kurt Seyit and Şura
This was by far one of the best series I've ever watched (at least the first part of it). It's about the love story between a handsome Turkish soldier, Kurt Seyit (literally Wolf Seyit) and a young Russian woman, Şura. Seyit and Şura's relationship is constantly put at risk by the Russian Revolution and family intrigues.
I loved the story and the acting, though I was disappointed by the second part of the series. Through the series I learnt a lot about Russian and Turkish culture and history which I found very interesting.
The series is available on Netflix UK.

- TV Series: Love Bird
After having loved Kurt Seyit and Şura, I couldn't help it but watch a similar series. Though it's a completely different story, it's another Turkish TV series and the protagonist is also in the former series' cast.
Lovebird (Çalıkuşu) is about Feride, an orphan who grows up between a boarding school in Istanbul and her uncle and aunt's mansion where she and her cousin Kamran develop feelings for each other.
Though it took me a few episodes to get into Lovebird and there is an excessive amount of drama involved, I am still enjoying the show after my translation sessions.
This is also available on Netflix UK.
- What were your favourites in the last few months?
